The New Year is an ideal time to reflect on our achievements, focus on the future and celebrate the year that was. And what a year it’s been!
On the acquisition front, we have welcomed Adam Internet and further integrated TransACT and Internode into the fold. Internode continues to thrive under its unique brand, while our Canberra and regional Victorian customers appreciate the strong local connection built by TransACT. A big thank you to all our new customers and their support throughout 2013.
It has certainly been an eventful year for the National Broadband Network. Despite a change of government and big changes to the way the NBN is managed and deployed, iiNet will continue to advocate strongly on behalf of our customers – fighting for those without access to fast broadband and pushing to end the digital divide in this country. Only a month ago, we were the first to cease sale of NBN Satellite services because of declining quality for our customers.
iiNet prides itself on both awesome customer service and our innovative products and services. This year has been a ripper on both counts.
On the product front, 2013 is the year we matured to become a full-service telco – iiNet now offers a quality quad-play of broadband, phone, mobile and IPTV. We now stock the latest in phones, tablets and mobile devices in partnership with Samsung, and in June we introduced 4G. Not to mention the new products from iiNet Labs, including Budii and our popular MobiiHotspot.
iiNet TV with Fetch has not stood still either, with new channels, improved software, a new app that lets you watch your favourite shows via mobile devices and a range of catch-up television options. iiNet TV is now truly competitive with other content options and is only getting better with age.
iiNet is also growing, with more customers moving over from our competitors by the day. More importantly, our current customers are staying with us for even longer.
Customer service is the backbone of our business, and the reason for this success in 2013. This year has been the biggest year of customer service awards and recognition, and the highest level of NPS. Thank you to every one of our staff in making iiNet the clear industry leader in customer satisfaction (by a country mile!).
We’ve finished our 20th year on a high – the business is growing, we continue to innovate, and iiNet leads the way in customer service. Obviously with such a high bar set, the challenge is to make our customers even happier in the year ahead – a challenge we will not shirk from.
I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved, and look forward to another exciting year in 2014.
