Small Business Sessions – AnnexM or Bonded?

by Ricardo Carreira

Sorting out the Internet connection for your business can sometimes be a tricky thing. If you don’t set yourself up with the right solution from the start it will cause some serious headaches later down the track.

Luckily, with a little know how and a helping hand, working out what’s best for you can be made a lot simpler.

Two products you might come across in your quest to speed up your Internet are AnnexM and Bonded DSL. The latter is great for customers who need fast speed but might be a fair distance from their exchange, have bad line quality or a growing number of employees utilising the same connection. It increases your internet speed by combining two ‘pstn lines’ into one special modem. In short – it’s pretty much like joining two ADSL connections into one – hence the name ‘bonded’ DSL. It removes the complexity of load balancing and multiple WAN connections and is a fraction of the cost of a commercial or corporate fibre service.

While AnnexM is for businesses that might need a faster upload speed to send large files or stream content. It allows customers to take some of their download speed and inject it into their upload speed for a once-off payment. It caters to industries like graphic design who generally send large files to their clients. AnnexM would allow for these files to be sent much faster so staff can spend less time waiting and more time working.

While these are just two business Internet solutions it’s important to remember that every business is unique and sometimes a chat with the experts can be just the ticket.
