Tech we have to look forward to

blog.hero.futuretech

Technology is a beautiful thing, and the future is looking bright for the tech world! So what exactly can we expect to be driving to work in, watching TV on, and calling people with in the years to come? We did some tech-y investigating and found a few things that we just can’t wait to get our hands on!

We should point out that some technology goals are a little more realistic than others at this point and time but who doesn’t like to dream? We say the potential is limitless, so let’s dive in.

Jet Pack International

Jet setting around

What if you could to fly at up to 130 kilometres per hour, over 190 feet high in the sky? Jet Pack International are developing personal flying machines and performing custom flights and stunts for events around the world. We aren’t able to use these jet packs or purchase them ourselves just yet (it seems like the sort of invention that would need a lengthy testing period to be safe) but just knowing this is possible makes us excited – we can’t wait to fly!

Aero-X

Hovering around

Calling all Star Wars fans: get ready to hover! You may well be able to get your very own version of the speeder bike straight out of the movie – the Aerofex Aero-X. After over 15 years of research and development we can feast our eyes on the Aerofex Aero-X which has a water-cooled, 240 horsepower engine to help it hover up to 10 feet above ground. The real thing is expected to speed straight onto the market in 2017!

Hover Board

Crafty rides

Ever since Back to the Future hit the screens, all we‘ve ever wanted – no, needed – was one of those hover boards! There have been moments where we thought our dreams had become a reality and we could finally get our hands on one, only to later find out it was a hoax and we had been utterly fooled by HUVr. It looks like we’ll have to settle for self-balancing scooters like the Hovertrax until someone figures out how to make the real deal.

Samsung-5

Hands up if you want a phone that folds?

We heard along the grapevine that Samsung have been working on a bendable display and it seems 2017 could just be the year we can all get our hands on the ultimate, pocket-friendly smartphone.

Microsoft HoloLens

VR headsets for Computers

Windows have developed a free update for Windows 10 that will mean you can use your VR head set with your PC! Microsoft HoloLens is the first holographic computer, enabling you to engage and interact with your digital content. A computer without a monitor? Now that’s pretty cool!

Nintendo Switch

Switch up your Nintendo

Nintendo are looking to release its new gaming console, the Nintendo Switch, around March next year. Not only does the console work on TV, it’s also portable! That’s right, just because you have a plane to catch or things to do, that doesn’t mean you have to stop playing. If you are as intrigued as us – click here to see the promo trailer.

Welt

The newest wearable technology – the intelligent belt

Introducing the Welt. Yep, you heard us correctly, the Welt is a belt that logs your daily habits. When you connect to the app you will know in an instant how long you spent sitting that day, how many steps you took, a report on when you were eating, and your waist measurement. Most importantly, it still does a good job of holding your pants up!

Are there any particular items you’re keen to get your hands on? Whether it can fit in your pocket or will take up your whole garage, share your tech dreams with us in the comments!
