Cambodia Effort Far From Over

by Nikkita Dixon

Last year our Compliance Manager and resident ‘unsung hero’, Rebecca Moonen, flew to Cambodia to assist in the build of 20 houses for the poverty-stricken community. At the time we couldn’t have known how many lives would be changed by the effort. But now, several months later, the effort is continuing to raise valuable funds.

In breaking news, the effort inspired a song to be released by West Coast Eagles Club Chaplain, Paul Morrison. Called Picking Up the Pieces, the song delves into the experiences had by the players and all who were involved in the charity mission. With featuring guest vocals from Football stars Nic Naitanui, Brad Sheppard, Koby Stevens and Gerrick Weedon, the single aims to continue the assistance of remote village Kampong Speu Province by raising an extra $40,000.

The funding is aimed at the construction of a new school in the area.

Now available on iTunes and at the West Coast Eagles Team Store for $5, all proceeds will go toward the Tabitha Foundation. Read more on the recording effort here.
