Cycle Instead for Spring

by Nikkita Dixon

Spring has sprung and our staff are dusting off their bicycles and getting ready to do the environment (and themselves) some good by joining the Cycle Instead challenge.

The challenge is simple: join a team and then spend the month making the trip to work on two wheels instead of four. Team members keep track of how many kilometres they’ve done to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes. The challenge eventually concludes with National Ride to Work Day on 12 October 2011.

The best part is, it’s not about who the best cyclist is – you don’t have to ride very far or very often – but venturing outside and enjoying the sunshine. Sound good to you? It sounds great to us, and fits right in with our New Year’s Resolution to be a healthier company this year.

If you’d like to check out our staff progress, head to the iiNet group page or keep an eye on the blog for an update on iiNet’s efforts in the Cycle Instead challenge.

If you’d like to join the challenge and enjoy Perth’s great Spring weather while you’re getting active and keeping the air clean, head to the Cycle Instead webpage to learn more.

I guess you may want to get a twitter icon to your site. I just marked down this article, although I had to make this by hand. Simply my suggestion.

Thanks Rosemary – I’ll make some inquiries about having a “share on Twitter” link added to the blog. Great suggestion!

if we cycle to work – where do we park our bikes? do we need a special access key to lock them and unlock them – how do we get that and from whom?
