As an iiNet employee, one of the great things I noticed from day one was that the management at iiNet encouraged us all to actively look for ways to save customers money.
Now, you might think I’ve simply been drinking too much of the company Kool-Aid, but I can honestly say that this approach to customers has been true for me to this day. I love this strategy and our customers love it even more. Because, after all: happy customers are the benchmark of any successful business.
No matter what kind of life you lead, everybody likes to have a little extra spending money. I’ll leave it up to you to decide what you hate most: packing a cheap, homemade lunch every day or cutting out that morning latte, but I know having that little extra cheddar to afford both an invigorating coffee and delicious, hot meal every day is one of life’s small joys.
That’s why we’ve put together a list of five simple ways you can save money when using the Internet.
1. Monitor your data usage
I know as well as anyone that remembering your ever-expanding list of usernames and passwords can be a total chore. However, one important combo to take note of is the username and password for your iiNet Toolbox.
Logging into your iiNet Toolbox (My Account for Westnet customers, Your Account for Adam customers) lets you monitor how much data you are using in real-time, and see whether you’re paying for more than you need. Changing plans is as simple as the click of a mouse, and you can do it yourself any time, and save yourself valuable dollars.
2. Check for changes in our plans and services
64kb of RAM might have been cutting edge in 1981, and 56kbps may have been an impressive downloading speed in 1996, but we all know technology moves fast and is constantly improving.
At iiNet we regularly update our plans to offer customers the best value for money, so if you’re on an old plan, chances are a newer one may allow for greater data allowances and better value. We’d love to talk you through getting the best plan for your needs, so feel free to contact us any time.
3. Mobile data
Whether you’re streaming podcasts on the way to work or watching cat videos on YouTube, — both of which may be essential parts of your day-to-day life — they don’t mean you need to be paying for masses of mobile data unnecessarily.
Most podcast and media streaming apps provide an option to download and listen later. So, if you’re paying for an internet connection at home, use that instead and save your mobile data for when you really need it. Utilising your home WiFi connection for data intensive activities will save your wallet from the extra charges that occur when you go over your data allowance.
4. Bundle your services
Having services with multiple providers can be stressful, not to mention expensive. At iiNet we offer discounts and incentives for bundling your services together and making us your one-stop shop for all your connection needs. Let us do the work to simplify your life, so you can save money and start spending more time enjoying yourself online.
For example, if you bundle your broadband internet service with iiNet as well as a 4G mobile plan – we’ll double your mobile data!
If you haven’t already, check out Freezone, which gives you access to quality movie, music and gaming content. With partners like ABC iView and Apple iTunes, Freezone offers a range of material for just about everyone.
Best of all, none of it counts towards your monthly quota! Even if you’ve gone over your quota and your access has become shaped, you can still access Freezone at full-speed, any time.
