The New Fetch TV – Entertainment that fits in the palm of your hand

The new Fetch TV Mini set top box has arrived! There’s a lot of movie buffs in the Westnet team (we love a good TV show to sink our teeth into!) so we’re thrilled that our latest Fetch TV product includes access to thousands of movie titles in one adorable package – the new Fetch TV Mini!

This little guy has a range of handy features to make your home entertainment experience a thing to remember; but first, let’s cover the basics of the new product with a little bit of Fetch 101.

Fetch TV Mini Set Top Box

Here’s what you’ll need for the new Fetch TV with Westnet:

  • A Westnet broadband service with a speed of at least 3.5Mbps (excluding NBN™ Satellite).
  • A Fetch TV Mini set top box – available from us for $99.
  • A standard subscription available for just $5 per month with no lock-in contract.

A standard subscription has a range of enhanced viewing features plus it also comes with Movie Box, giving you access to a selection of 30 movies each month at no additional cost! If you’re interested in beefing up your pay TV service, there’s also a range of channel packs to choose from plus thousands of movies and TV shows to rent or buy from the Fetch Store. The Entertainment Plus pack is a popular option giving you access to over 35 great channels including the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, BBC, CNN, ESPN, MTV, National Geographic and more – all for just $19.95 a month. Sports fans will be pleased to know that the beIN Sports pack is also available.

Fetch TV Mini Set Top Box

Little box. BIG entertainment.

The Fetch TV Mini comes with everything you need to plug it into your TV and connect to your home broadband service using its built-in WiFi. With one remote and one device, it puts all your TV in one place and setup is a piece of cake. The Fetch TV Mini also has catch-up TV and all the popular streaming apps built-in so you can enjoy your Netflix and Stan subscriptions on your TV in your living room. The remote control is a big improvement on the previous model and the on-screen setup tutorial is a breeze – but wait, that’s not all!

Have you ever been stuck into a good TV show when suddenly the phone rings or you’ve got a hankering for a good cup of tea? You don’t have to worry about missing out any more with the Fetch TV Mini’s 15-minute pause on live TV! That’s right – whether it’s your Fetch TV channels or Free-to-Air channels, the Fetch TV Mini will save your place like a TV bookmark for up to 15 minutes so you can resume viewing without missing a second!

Don’t fight for the remote thanks to Multiroom

One of the biggest improvements with the new Fetch TV Mini is the new Multiroom feature. This feature allows up to 3 Fetch TV Minis to share access to the same Fetch TV service, including access to all your channel packs and any movies or TV shows you’ve bought or rented from the Fetch Store. That means you don’t need to double/triple up on your channel pack subscriptions, just purchase an additional Mini set top box and a standard service at $5 per month and you can have the kids watching Disney in the spare room while you enjoy a grown- up movie in the living room.

There are some broadband speed requirements to support additional Fetch TV Minis (you’ll need at least 9.5Mbps to support the maximum of 3 set top boxes). If you’re intrigued, you can learn more about Multiroom on our website.

There’s no time like the present to get your hands on a little box with BIG entertainment! If you have a broadband service with us and you’re interested in this award-winning product, just give us a call on 13 19 60 and we’ll be happy to help.

i’m with iinet too..when can we expect fetch tv Might box to be available as i already have gen2 box but want to upgrade.

    • Chris May says:

      Hi Jazz,

Thanks for the question! At this point in time the Mighty set top boxes are not available through iiNet TV With Fetch. Should this change in the future we’ll be sure to make the appropriate announcements. Our current offerings can always be found over on our website –

      – Chris

  2. John Lewis says:

Currently I have foxtel, and if I could get sports main events I would swap straight away, because maybe your films could be better too. I am waiting for NBN expect soon

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi John,

More sports is always welcome on Fetch, however the current rights holders have most, if not all of events tied up.

      – Leo.

  3. Judith says:

    Still waiting for NBA……..

  4. Kyrona says:

So can we use Fetch TV Mini set top box with NBN fiber to door?
Will it resolve the issues we currently have with a SMART TV 4g – that does not have the internal software to keep up? Meaning viewing quality is low despite our great internet speeds?
    Thanks Ky

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi Kyrona,

Yes, you can use the Fetch Mini with your NBN FTTP service! It should perform well on your connection.

      – Leo.

  5. Antony Wells says:

We are with Westnet. Our Download speed rarely gets close to 3.5Mbps – only once in the last 2 months (tests done using on-line speed tests). On this basis, we couldn’t get Fetch. How would we fix that?

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi Antony,

As you’re aware, your ADSL speed is the primary sticking point here, so we need to find a way to optimise it as beast possible. You can consider steps like:

      * Changing your current On-Net ADSL profile in Toolbox, to a faster type (say from ADSL2+ Standard to Extreme)
      * Isolate the line to the modem by removing any phones, filters and other devices connected to the line.
      * Ensuring your modem is connecting on the fastest connection type it can (usually ADSL type G.992.5)

This should at least give you a little bit more room to work with. You then need to ensure the speeds you receive are consistent and stable. Its all well and good to jump from 3.5Mbps to 7Mbps, only to have an inconsistent service that drops out!

      – Leo.

  6. sue says:

Does Fetch TV mini set top box work with NBN Wireless 1 V3?

  7. Judi Ryan says:

Hi, we have NBN satelite through you guys can we get Fetch TV
    Regards Judi
We already have Foxtel so will only need it for Movies

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi Judi,

Fetch will not work with NBN Satellite, due to the limitations of the satellite connection type (including things like high latency and slow responsiveness).

      – Leo.

  8. ian says:

Hi there. I have recently purchased a Chromecast, and have had successfully used it with trial subs with Stan and Netflix. Can I use the Chromecast to access “Fetch”?

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi Ian,

Fetch is a hardware type of connection, so Chromecast will not work with Fetch.

      – Leo.

  9. Diamond says:

Does the way this is worded mean that because I’m on Satellite NBN this offer is available to me or not..?

  10. Eric says:

no chance for streaming TV with our somewhat slower off-net service. Still waiting for NBN.

  11. Adam says:

Hi is the sport channel are available specially premier league

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi Adam,

The EPL has been acquired by Optus, however BeIN sports has UEFA EURO 2016, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and La Liga.

      – Leo

  12. Raymond Thomas says:

I had been a very satisfied Westnet user for the past 10years. I am now very disappointed and frustrated. My original fetch box system served me very well giving me access to the programs I was interested in and also had the ability to record.

On the 4 November last year I noticed that certain channels seemed not to be available or access to films.

Todate I have had over twenty telephone conversaations with representatives in South Africa, Philippines and New Zealand, been sent first a White fetch box and more recently the mini fetch box. non of these have been able to connect.

Currently a representative in New Zealand is attempting to get me up and running. she has rung back as promised and is due to ring back on Monday to advise me of the progress the engineers have had in resolving the problem.

    What is going on?

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hi Raymond,

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with the IPTV team directly on 1300 701 006. They should be able to give you a hand.

      – Leo.

  13. LCD TVs can really sae you from high electricity bilkls and office space

  14. Peter says:

I have a gen 2 FetchTV box through iinet. Can I also get a mini for multi room use? Are these 2 compatible?

    • Leo Yarnold says:

      Hey Peter,

The Mini is designed for multi-room use. Have a chat to the IPTV team on 1300 701 006 – they can confirm if this will work with your setup.

      – Leo.

  15. Mandy says:

Raymond I also used to be a very satisfied customer until changing to NBN in my area. I’ve phoned numerous times too trying to resolve my bad connection speeds. My NBN is worse than when I had broadband. Completely different issue I know but my streaming is always affected now and we can only have one device connected at one time through our new modem. Westnet can’t do anything more!

  16. JOHN KUS says:

Raymond, I too are having a bad experience with NBN Fixed Wireless… My ADSL service was better!!! wESTNET/IINET DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT!!

    • Brianna Burgess says:

      Hi John,

We’ve managed to locate your account and can see you’re frequently exceeding your monthly quota causing the service to be shaped. We would encourage giving our Support (13 22 58) line a buzz to discuss options such as data blocks and plan upgrades to rectify this. The Customer Service Representative will also be able to review your NBN Wireless connection to ensure it is performing optimally.

      – Brianna
